Starting a new school in 7th grade can be tough, but for Daniel, joining Holy Redeemer felt like coming home. On his very first day, he was surprised to see so many familiar faces including family members, fellow altar servers, and parish goers. "I felt welcomed immediately," he shared.
For Daniel, the biggest change has been the environment. Unlike his previous school, he can now talk openly about his beliefs. "I’m learning things about my faith I never knew before," Daniel says, noting how great it feels to finally relate to his peers on a spiritual level and be able to share and learn about Catholicism with so much freedom.
Daniel also credits his teachers for helping him to have such a positive experience at Holy Redeemer. He appreciates how Sr. Ignatius uses clear examples to help students understand new lessons, and he really enjoys the books Ms. Rakestraw assigns.
When the school day ends, Daniel enjoys playing in the basketball team. As a member of the basketball team, he says he truly enjoys the game and the bond he’s built with his teammates. Whether he’s in the classroom or on the court, Daniel has found a second home and community in Holy Redeemer.
