Meet the Teacher: Mr. Tucker

Name:

William Tucker

Grade:

Seventh Grade Homeroom; Middle School Science & Social Studies

Year of Teaching Experience:

25

Year you started working at Redeemer:

This is my fourth year at Holy Redeemer.

College/University:

University of Michigan - Dearborn and Wayne State University

Hometown:

Dearborn - I live right near Greenfield Village....I would live in Greenfield Village if they would let me.

Hobbies outside teaching:

Hiking and exploring the Great Lakes Region. Finding great things to bring to the classroom at estate sales.

Fun Fact:

I taught one year with my wife, Laura Fabbri-Tucker, at St. Pius in Southgate. She was teaching elementary Science and I was teaching Middle School Science during Covid-19. All the teachers traveled around with carts and computers.

Proudest Teaching Moment

Bringing students up to Grand Traverse Bay to sail on the Alliance. I really appreciate when I can share my love of history and my love of science with students.

Why do you love teaching at Holy Redeemer?

The students are kind and faith filled. The parents, staff and volunteers all really care about bringing their best each day. Holy Redeemer students care about each other and are willing to help each other. The announcements every morning help set a tone for faith, scholarship, Catholic discipleship, lifelong learning, and service to others.

Awards/Accomplishments

I really enjoy crossing paths with former students who remember something they learned in my classroom or one of my corny "Dad" jokes or puns. The favorite field trips I have put together over the years are the ones where students develop a better sense of themselves, history, and their place in God's world.
